In this video i show you how to replace the fly by wire gas pedal on my 2005 subaru feel free to comment and ask questions. Help i have an intermittent but almost daily problem with the electronic throttle not responding on my 05 forester 25x with auto trans often i stop ata red light when i stepon the accelerator the engine doesnt rev normally it has a loping idle between 800 1000 rpm when i step on the. Wife was in the homestore parking lot and the throttle response died and car threw a p2138 code all the online searches suggest a problem w the tps 1 in the 06 obw is this the tps hard to find a definitive yes no doing an image search mounted on top of the throttle body with the cable. The 2005 fly by wire accelerator pedal actually has two sensors that track the position of the pedal and two circuits going to the engine control module the duplication is for safety both signals have to be within a fixed range voltage of each other if they dont match the ecm puts the engine into fail safe mode. I can see how this would be confusing for lots of people not quite sure why vw had to draw their wiring diagrams like this some time maybe to make it easier to draw out the pedal sensors or something who knows so just dont assume the pins are in order from left to right when looking at something like this
